Fun Things to Do With Your Dog in Colorado Springs

Looking for things to do with your new canine companion in the Colorado Springs area? Head to one of the local dog parks and make new friends, human and canine. Bear Creek Dog Park is one of the most popular parks in the area, featuring creek access, separate areas for small and large dogs, a dog rinse, drinking fountains, and benches. Another popular dog park is the Palmer Park Dog Park, a wooded park featuring trails, water fountains, and benches.

For more outdoor fun, leash up your pup and head to Garden of the Gods. You and Fido can walk along the beautiful hiking trails on your own or participate in one of the free 30-minute guided tours. If you work up an appetite, you and your pup can take a break on the pet-friendly terrace of the Café at the Garden. Dogs are also welcome to join you as you hike The Crags to the summit of Pikes Peak. Dogs should be on-leash or under immediate voice control on the trail.

After playing hard and hiking with his new human, your pup might need a good wash. Locals love Phur Seasons Pet Spa and Boutique for self-service dog washing, full-service grooming, and pet food, treats, and supplies. When it is time to grab a bite to eat, Dog Tooth Coffee Company is a well-loved spot by both humans and pooches. I am so sorry for your loss.

I have had a few special dogs in my lifetime that were wonderful friends. When my last akita Bear died I would wake up in the wee hours and sob. I missed him so. He was just eight when he died of anal gland cancer. All I felt for the longest time was I just want him back.
That was when I found this room and received so much comfort. After a couple of months I started fostering dogs and that helped.
Now I have a new akita puppy named Coco that is a joy to my heart.
I still think of Bear everyday. And Angel, the akita I shared life with before Bear

I've recently put down a deposit on an Akita Inu pup. After following much advice from people on multiple websites, I went with a breeder that had health guarantees, reviews from other puppy buyers, etc.

The …kitas on that page are not the parents, lol... they were the parents to the 1st pup I was thinking of getting, but I decided against it. I did not like the look of he mother at all, and shortly after found more breeders.

      • One thing you should be aware of is that dog shows are highly "political". Much of the judging is influenced by personal relationships the judges have with entrants and handlers. (I don't mean physical relation …er if you want ring success. That's why the entrants of top dogs have them handled by professionals.

If you want to get into showing for fun, go ahead. But be aware that for some people it's a blood sport.

      • Your question says two problematic things: pet shops and teacup yorkies.

Pet shops are a terrible place to get a dog. the only breeders that sell dogs to pet shops are puppy mills. Reputable breeders scree … sickly and frail. Buy a standard size yorkie - they are already really small.

If you want to throw your money away on a poorly bred dog with possible health problems, buy a teacup yorkie from a pet store.
